Some of you may know me as “Confessions of a Straight Mother” or coasm here on Tumblr.  This is a new blog I have started with the support of the PFLAG committee here in Brisbane.  I feel quite passionate about supporting LGBTQ youth and one of the biggest issues I see particularly here on Tumblr is bullying.  The rate of suicide in LGBTQ youth is significantly higher than for other teens and we want to do what we can to help those youth.

The purpose of this blog is to highlight the issue in the words of the youth that are dealing with it particularly here is Queensland.  These stories will be collated and taken to state MPs. I think the words from LGBTQ youth will be much more powerful than mine.  

I really encourage you to send through your story via the submit button or to pass this blog to others that you may know.  Please include your postcode, town or suburb name or the name of the school you attend.  You can be anonymous, but we want to be able to identify stories from the areas the MPs represent to make it more personal to their own communities.

Please spread the word to friends or family and encourage anyone you know to submit their story.
